What people ask us about NATI
Short answers for mayors, CEOs, and heads of tourism and economic development.
What is NATI?
NATI (a Hebrew acronym for "tourism and destination management") is one system for managing a municipality's local economy, developed by MetGo. It connects a business and tourism website, cashback and gift vouchers, a regional benefits card, events and tickets, bookings and payments, business messaging and a dashboard.
What is MetGo?
MetGo is a company from the Western Negev that has worked with businesses and municipalities across Israel for more than seven years.
Who is NATI for?
Municipalities, regional councils and municipal clusters that want to grow local business: mayors, CEOs, and heads of tourism and economic development.
How is NATI different from a tourism website or a business directory?
A tourism website or a business directory only displays information. With NATI people can also buy and book, you can hand out cashback and gift vouchers, message businesses and measure results – all in one system instead of seven separate ones.
What is local cashback?
The municipality turns a marketing or events budget into "local money" that visitors and residents can only spend at the region's businesses. You choose what earns the cashback – a stay, a festival or a route – and every shekel is measured: how much was given, used, and where.
What is a regional benefits card?
A card distributed by hotels: every guest who arrives in the region gets perks at all local businesses. The card arrives by email and opens in one tap to a page with every business – no app to download. Payment happens there too, by phone. The card completes the visit and keeps more money in the local economy.
What is a corporate gift mini-site?
A personal gift-choice site in a company's branding, where each employee picks a holiday gift from local businesses' gift boxes, experiences and vouchers. The company sets the budget and the message; we build the site and handle redemption, delivery and payment to businesses, and the company gets a summary report.
What do local businesses get?
Every business gets a free booking system, mini-site and direct payments, with no red tape. Businesses also keep their own profiles up to date: products, hours and photos.
Who handles the money – collection, processing and transfers to businesses?
We do. MetGo takes responsibility for collection, payment processing and transfers to businesses, so your municipality has peace of mind and doesn't have to manage any of it.
How long does it take to get started?
In less than a month you already have a new website.
Do we need a new budget?
Not necessarily. You can start with the budget you already have: local cashback, for example, uses an existing marketing or events budget.
How do we know it's working?
The dashboard shows the local economy in real time: turnover, transactions, redemption and the result of every campaign, by municipality, region and campaign.
What is the MetGo Index?
An index that gives every business in the system a growth stage – blooming, growing, sprouting or thirsty – based on its real activity in NATI: sales, bookings, voucher and cashback redemptions, against a threshold your municipality sets. You see where money flows and where it doesn't, spot businesses starting to wilt early, aim campaigns and events at exactly those who need them, and see after every action how many businesses moved up a stage.
Which municipalities already work with MetGo?
Among others: Tav 8 in the Gaza Envelope and Western Negev, with every Western Negev Cluster municipality; Hof Ashkelon Regional Council; Gilboa Regional Council; Matbea HaAri in the Galilee and the North; and Blooming Negev Tourism in Bnei Shimon Regional Council. See the stories
